Step into a painting with WoofbertVR

Education | April 2, 2016

I just tried the last update of WoofbertVR for the Gear VR and I wanted to share some of my thoughts.

I was already impressed by the first version of the app, it allowed me to quietly move in an art gallery to discover and learn about some famous paintings. I believe that the gallery we are exploring is the Courtauld Gallery in London (let me know if I’m wrong).

But with the last update, WoofbertVR takes Art Education to a whole new level since it let’s you dive inside the painting and explore its surroundings in total immersion (the experience is similar from what you get with Night Cafe). The only painting with this feature for now is A Bar at the Folies-Bergère by Édouard Manet.

As you can feel I was really impressed by this update and I can definitely feel how great this app could become with more experiences or unique features like this one.

This kind of project is everything Art Education needs and all I can say is that I can’t wait to see more!

What about you, did you like the app as much as I did? Do you have any suggestions for the team behind this project? Let me know in the comments!
